Membership Programs

FMMS members can obtain a variety of preferred rates on group insurance benefits. Health, disability, office overhead expense coverage, term life insurance programs, long term care, workers' compensation and other coverages are available through Marsh Affinity Group Services , a national brokerage firm endorsed by the CMA and more than 25 county medical societies.

Physician Referral Service

FMMS routinely handles public requests for physician referrals to those physicians accepting new patients. Referrals are made on a rotating basis to an FMMS member in the location or area requested by the caller. Medi-Cal, Medicare, CHAMPUS and other insurance participation factors are utilized in making the referrals. The service is free of charge to members and the public.

Vital Signs

VITAL SIGNS is the FMMS monthly newsletter sent to all members as well as to hospital personnel, legislators and selected others with ties to medicine on the local level. Members can place free classified advertisements of three lines for up to three months. VITAL SIGNS carries ads for employment opportunities, office space for sale or rent, medical equipment, merchandise, special programs, etc.

Members are always welcome to submit articles. letters to the editor or other information for publication.

Non-member subscriptions are $24 per year. Contact FMMS at 224-4224 ext. 118 for further information and rates.

Mailing Labels

FMMS members wishing to purchase mailing labels for contacting their fellow members to announce an opening or closing of a practice, a change of location, etc. may do so at a cost of $50 to cover the cost of the label stock and the staff/computer time required to produce the order.

Commercial requests for membership labels are considered on a case-by-case basis with rates dependent upon numbers, style of sort, proposed usage, etc. The minimum commercial use rate is $150.

Annual Pictorial Directory

FMMS publishes an annual pictorial membership directory.  Content includes a pictorial roster of physician members, leadership rosters and various services to physicians & community.   Additional copies of this directory are available to purchase at $20 each for members and $30 each for non-members.
